Wellmount Village was established in 2001, since then it has welcomed students from all over the world including Brazil, Japan, India, China, Turkey, Italy, Spain, Germany, Switzerland, Holland, France, Latvia, Poland, Lithuania, Hungary, Finland, Sweden and Denmark.

Not forgetting our Irish students from Cavan to Kerry and Waterford to Galway, we’ve had all 32 Counties reside with us.  Most years we welcome back our Irish students for their second, third and their final college year.

In 18 years over 3,500 students have resided here and it’s as popular as ever for students.   

We are centrally located between Athlone Institute of Technology and Athlone Town Centre.  The Village is nestled in the middle of bus services, shops, restaurants, cinema, bar, chemists, it’s near to all.

The Village provides accommodation for 141 residents annually and books out quickly in advance of the Academic year.  We have a strong working relationship with Athlone Institute of Technology and their Students Union along with their International Office.

There is a great mix of World Cultures where Students embrace and share in traditional Culture Days from St. Patrick’s Day to the Chinese New Year. Friendships are formed and lifelong friends are made.

Annually, we welcome Graduates who complete their term with Ericsson, Solas Learning Works, AIT Apprenticeships, Apprenticeships in various trades and professions and many more who spend their time in Athlone. The Village is open 12 months of the year and accommodates students on short term and longer-term courses or apprenticeships.
